Hey

I have a 1957 Philco refrigerator model U15U16 that had a factory set cold control. I believe that the cold control is stuck in the run position because the compressor will not shut off. How/Where do you find the cold control and what might it look like?

It's a philco automatic. There is no knob, just an on/off switch inside. I've never seen one like it either, but I'm not an expert by any means

The link below are pictures of a similar refrigerator.

The ad here explains that the Philco Automatic has even cold, balanced humidity, and automatic defrosting. "No Dials... No Bother!... The Philco Automatic thinks for itself."

Oh sorry Stan...

The fridge does cool too much. It tends to freeze things in the refrigerator. Great fridge. Looks great, and works! It just costs me an extra $100 on the electric bill because it always runs. That's why I'm not using it at the moment and think it's another issue.

Quite perplexing.
