Oh, I want the small Frigidaire!

I've contacted the seller to ask if it could be shipped to Vermont! Is it far from you Martin? If it's close, I could send you money so you could grab it for me!

My parents had a Frigidaire a/c unit in their bedroom just like that in Turquoise. But I seem to remember that the control knobs were all the way to the left and the rest was that grid material with four directional "squares".

They had their's 1964-77 or so. It was a 6,000BT unit. And yes, it put out very cold air. I remember that I used to wax the case when it was brought out from storage in the spring and before it was put in their bedroom window each year. So it never had any rust issues at all.

Besides putting out plenty of cold air I do remember the unit being noisy. Especially when the thermostat kicked on and off again. But they never had any trouble with it at all, very reliable. They only got rid of it when they had central a/c installed in the house and they gave it away to a neighbor who used it for some years afterwards. And don't let it's size fool you, this is one heavy unit!

It's a 1967 model, it doesn't look like any Canadian 1967 models I have in my documents. I guess the Canadian equivalent would be the QO78L.

I just found that I had the Tech Talk for the 1967 US models too!

Here it is:
