Morning, all!

I was lucky enough to find a vintage blue GE cooktop for my 1958 ranch--the previous owners had replaced the original with a nasty Kenmore.

All looks good and has been hooked up safely, but this is one of my burners on 'HI." Dumb question: Is it going/gone bad? Are the darker areas bad enough to replace the whole thing? I'm crossing my fingers GE still makes the proper replacements. Amazingly, on "HI" it still heats a pot of water faster than anything modern I've used.

What would you do??

Many thanks...

GE Cook-Top Element

Did you have a kettle on this element that you lifted off just before taking this picture?, if so the element is working fine, but your kettle and or the element is warped somewhat, if it is the kettle give it to someone with a gas stove and if the element is warped I would look for a replacement, these elements are still being made.
