Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I wish these kinds of machines would pop up in my area.

They just don't seem to be around. Only once in Little Rock I went to an Estate Sale and saw a home with a Hotpoint Electric Sink. Someone had painted the entire front of it blue with a paint brush. It was tragic what they did to it.

This looks like 1967-69 ish.

I had the BOL vers. in an apartment I rented in 1988. It was original to the building.
It only had 2 buttons and the slim "control panel", though the knob FLOATs in the door panel. (?) I always thought that was weird. Same with Kitchen-aid and Maytag from the 60s. Knobs on the door panel, even in the access panel.

Anyway, They replaced by BOL avocado GE DW, complete with peeling plastisol liner and rusty racks because, when you turned it on, it sounded like an air plane was taking off.

Replaced it with a new plastic, BOL, Almond GE, with black console.

This is like the GE we had in our last house when we moved in. It was original to the house which was built in 1969. The DW was avacado colored.

It lasted until 1991 when the bottom rusted out and dumped the load of water into the motor while it was running. Quite a light show. We replaced it with a MOL Kenmore which did the same thing three years later. We eventually bought a Maytag in 1995 and I imagine it's still in that house washing dishes.
