Found this GE Dryer along with an old washer (but thats another message). Can anyone share any information and what I might be able to do with it?

GE Sign

Although most of GE has moved out the sign is still there and they still change the colors for Christmas and 4th of July.

Nice Find; didja get it?

This was one of the two (I think) years without a PUSH TO START button on the TOL model. You pulled out on the timer knob to start the dryer and the whole control panel flexed in a disturbing manner. I did not like the design as well as I did the 1959, but tended to be resistant to change even then.

Gosh - I need to add one like that to my collection. I've always associated "Pull To Start" with washer timers (especially GE), but not dryers!

Is this one operational, or have you tried it out? Looks like it could benefit from a good polishing.

Here is a 1962 TOL that I used to own (now in the possession of another automaticwasher person). By 1962 GE had reverted to their "Press To Start" switch.

GE Dryer Status

Have not tried it out. Would need to hook up wires and really the dryer was sitting in my Mother's basement. I will be looking to see what I can do to sell or donate it as well as the Blackstone Model A Electric Washer from the 1930's
