Vintage GE Zoneline air-conditioners

Howdy! Long time no post...
I'm helping move a friend into his new office space in a 1920's Michigan Avenue high-rise. His new office will have five GE Zoneline in-wall air-conditioners circa about 1970. These are the 110V cool-only units.
These are the exact same Zoneline air-conditioners that we baby-boomers found in motels as kids. Metal, fairly flush to wall. Large, almost console-size. Upward facing vents and controls with classic GE pushbutton operation. Sorry I didn't get the model numbers; I've only been to the site once. I'll get them soon.
Question: Does anyone have any (even generic) info regarding maintenance and cleaning of these vintage units?

No drift but...

Well, I didn't get buried in a snowdrift but a pipe did break in our home (upstairs no less) during the last Chicago cold-snap...
Simply put, dealing with a $50,000 home repair claim has sort-of taken me away a bit...
(insurance is covering all but the very small deductible... thank goodness)
Now I am project manager for an office move and a virtual refurbish of our home! And at the same time!
WHEEE!!

Oh well, things could be worse...

GE ZoneLine A/C Units

Hi Paul, What width are these units, GE made 42", something around 32-36" wide and the very popular 26" wide through the wall A/C units.

 

I never saw the wider units in 120 volts but they certainly may have built them.

 

The service the old units they should be removed, inspected and probably steam-cleaned, and if they are old enough you may be able to oil the fan motors.

 

If the units are really from the 70s they must not have a lot of use to have lasted so long. Check them out figure the EER and compare to new units as it is usually best to replace A/Cs that are that old, post pictures of the units and the model# tag and I can give you a lot more information.
