Hi, I have an old Maytag dryer (I'm not sure what model # but I attached a pic of it) that has started squeaking. The squeak isn't terrible yet so I want to deal with it before it gets worse and damages something. I'm handy but never worked on a dryer before, just looking for advice on where to start. Thanks!

The glides were quite worn on my 1981 Maytag DG810 back in 2019, looked into replacing them but requires some sort of riveting tool which I don’t have. Also, the tub bearing would make noise from time to time, will begin the process of cleaning them up and possibly will sell them for cheap since I am running out of space.

Thank you, qsd-dan! Those links are excellent. I used them to disassemble my dryer and find the model # (it's a DE313), and determine that the front glides and one drum roller are worn out. I figured while I have it open I will replace the other maintenance items (the other drum roller, the idler pulley, and the belt) so I have ordered all of those and look forward to putting it back together in a few days. I'll post back here with an update afterward.

All done, it went surprisingly smoothly. I had to watch the video a few times to figure out how to route the belt but that was the only tricky part. Thanks again to qsd-dan for pointing me in the right direction and posting the vids, that saved me a lot of time!

Glad it all worked out well! I love working on these dryers, they're so incredibly easy to service.
