One of my appliance fascinations are crock pots, I have about 15 mostly vintage Rival Crock Pots.

Recently I found this nice little 2 quart Rival II CrockPot that I really like as it's the right size for one person. Sadly the crock has a hairline crack in it and it leaks.

I wanted to see if there is anything I may be able to do to repair the crock, if not does anyone happen to have a crock I could use to replace this.

One thing you could do while seeing if anyone has a replacement crock is use the plastic liners. I have used them a few time and they are ok, problem is they only come in one size.

Sam - using liners is a good suggestion in the short term. I seem to regularly see "orphan" crocks at thrift stores. I think many of them outlived the heating unit. I'll keep an eye out for one in your size.

The liners are a great suggestion if you're concerned about leaks, and they eliminate the need for scrubbing, which might place weird forces of stress on the cracked area that could prove fatal.

My bigger concern would be removing the crock and its contents from the base unit while hot.  I suggest emptying the crock and allowing it to cool down before removing it, if you're not doing that already.

I was at a party once where the host removed the crock and was carrying it through the dining room to a buffet table and midway across, the bottom fell out.

Thanks for the suggestion of the plastic liners. I had never thought of them.

If anyone sees a stray crock in a thrift I'd appreciate having it. The crock is a wide one like the 5qt models but very shallow

I will look

When I hit the thrift stores usually every few weeks..seems I see crocks often but you know how it is when your looking for something....Cheryl

You might also rummage around in your Pyrex bake ware or Corning Ware collection to see if something there would fit. I have seen slow cookers with Corning Ware liners. The only important thing is that the liner transmit and hold heat, something both Pyrex and Corning Ware do. There was nothing magical about the crockery material. You might also have to use the cover for the Pyrex or Corning piece. I am thinking of the round Corning Ware pieces that might fit this. I don't know how tapered the sides of the crockery insert are so Pyrex casserole shapes might be a better fit.
