Maybe you'll know Rich.. I bought this today because it was in pretty good shape and I liked the size of it, a midsized office machine, not a big monster. All it says is Royal and I can't find a model #. There is patent numbers the last being 1949. It has some "modern" cool features like magic margins and what I found most interesting was the two tab buttons on the right hand of the keyboard almost like an electrics carriage return. One of the buttons is extra long so you sort of use the edge of your hand or full pinky finger to press it.

Hi Pete,

Nice find! What you have is a Royal Standard Model HH. Circa 1954. I will tell you how to date it. You need to look at the serial number. If the serial number is 5,1000,000 to 5,456,673 then it is 1954. If it is 5,456,674 to 5,728,699 then it is 1955. If the serial number is 5,728,700 to 5,989,001 then it is 1956. 1956 was the last year that they were produced. The green key on the side is for the tabulator. You could either hit the key with your finger or you could hit the larger key with the edge of your hand or your palm. Hope this is useful info for you!
