Boston, MA area - $75 obo

I inherited a Sears Kenmore washing machine from my parent's neighbor, who had been actively using it until it was given to me. I'm not sure exactly how old it is, but my educated guess is that it was made in the 1970's. I tried using this link (http://www.electricalforensics.com/MajorAppliances/WhirlpoolDateCodes.html), but couldn't tell. If anyone can tell the year, please let me know!

Model #: 110.7204803G
Serial #: C32408050

I moved the machine to my apartment, and it worked great for about three months. It still technically works, but the machine makes a loud grinding noise only when the machine agitates. It seems that someone with some know how could easily fix it. The body is in good condition with very little rust only where the machine touches the floor. The wash basket looks like it might be newer.

I really hate having to give it up, but I had a deal with the land lady that I would only keep it until I could no longer use it (no repairs), since she didn't want me to have it in the first place. If I can't have it, I'd love to see it have a good home.

See profile for contact email. Thanks!

That's a great looking machine. that's the first I've seen with the side window on the cycle selector. Machine has a lot of nice features.

I would think it would be worth the effort to get the machine up and running correctly especially since this mishap is a recent occurence.

Perhaps a bit of prognostication is in order from our legion of Kenmore experts.

If the landlady isn't on site, she doesn't have to know repairs were needed and performed.

Thanks for the nice replies. Unfortunately, the landlady does know it's broken. Looks like there are a couple people interested in repairing the machine, so hopefully it'll find a good home. :)
