Just my observation, but I don't think the appliances are original to the house.  That kitchen light is from at least 1960.  Neighbor across the street (my "other mother") the light fixture in the kitchen was in every bedroom and the kitchen and the house was finished by early spring 1961 and was prominent light fixture outside Montgomery Wards in the new Sharpstown Shopping Center in Houston.  The oven is a double oven with P7 self-cleaning upper oven and the KDI15 KA dishwasher.  A GE expert cah tell me chronilocal order of Self-clean  and KA15 series.

I think the kitchen is even older than 1960 and got a re-do sometime during the '60s, as the oven, cook top and dishwasher all appear to be mid-'60s vintage.

What I want to know is, what's going on with that ceiling?  It's beyond popcorn.  More like Dream Whip.

Notice the wall outlet above the upper cabinet to the left of the sink.  Was for the ubiquitous electric kitchen clock back in the day.  Sigh, those were the days.

I wish my kitchen had one of those outlets!  There's no place for a clock to check with a quick glance.  Just squinting at the small, dim displays on the oven and microwave.  I hate to have to give in to a boring battery wall clock when I have a few different Telechron and GE clocks I'd prefer to use.

I don't blame you.  I'm fortunate enough my galley with an L kitchen is such that when I walk in I can glance at the microwave as I'm passing by to see the time.
