got mine (thrift store find from 2010) out of the shed.
the crockpot method is fine but hard to maintain the 110 degrees for setting up.... first its done at 2hr or so milk is put in crockot on high till 180 is reached...then the long 110 DEGREES .. part starts. crock off towel wrapped around....
now maintaining the 110 DEGREES is hard . Receipe from , daringgourmet.com , suggested putting it in an oven with OVEN light on ... Because MY temp oven light can not be turned on unless opened.. It a P7built in type. Oven.just sitting on a HF furniture dolly under counter...
so my yogurt IS not setting up good. cause its cool in the house right now
now the WESTINGHOUSE ROASTER lowest that indicated is 150.... It is the unit with the red "bulb" indicator
So WH roaster owners is it possible to get it to work on 110 degrees?
I got the WHR cabinet unit too but left the old thing in the shed. Cause last time i tried plugging in the clock cabinet timer did not work
I believe I saw some of those clear glass "pyrex" units at a flea mkt a while back. But I didnt buy them neat looking as I remember.....
Next time I try making yogurt will put it in shorter glass unit....maybe one of my cornings or Visionware ....
so now I stuck just the crock in the WH R...... tall so crock lid wont fit inside the oven...
anyone? thanks yall

why are you linking to that old sunbeam fryer.?

I def had one of those years ago. I still have several fryer "baskets"
so why show me that? I can buy other things. I prob even have something else to use. Somewhere I have a used single containers yogurt maker... but dont know what box it is in. I believe I kept it from our move....
hubby wants to put stuff in an auction we have so much still in boxes....
I even had a pasteurizer. Matter fact I bought another used one. Never used it hough. I dont believe its adjustable either.
I prob already ruined this batch of milk to yogurt..... thank Goodness only used a Half gallon
last time I made it I was more careful and it was prob warmer in the house than now
anyone else? thanks all

because you'll find that sunbeam fryer is very accurate on tempature and works perfectly as a slow cooker (in fact, it's one of the best slow cookers in the world). The lowest temp is 150, but you use a thermometer to get the correct temp and it will hold that temp.
