Hey guys has anyone else had a bad experiance with them lately? I went to get a new battery today to replace one of there under warrentyfor my old Lincoln. I waited for ever to be told they were out and didt have a clue when one might be in stock. I said thanks and went to get the main manager to ask him to order one( he had to do this a while back). I never got him instead I got a co manger asking (yelling) what did I want a mngr for, I told I wasnt standing there for my health and needed the mngr Mr so an so. She started screaming she was going to throw my ass out of walmart. I told her to have a good day made her shake my hand and called corp office. I finally got the main mngr on the phone and he said he was shocked and he was going to have her say she was sorry. I guess thats what was "Todays special value"

You handled this like a gentlemen

I'm not sure I would have be this cordial to this #$% lady. She would have had to throw me out, but not without a fight. I would like for you to write a formal letter to manager of this Wal-Mart with cc to the corporate headquarters and to the media in your area. People in your town need to know about this. Don't just sit and stew about it, do something!

The Manager/Co-Manager was out of line

You are a customer, and the customer is always right.

Pick up your phone now and dial 1-800-walmart that's 1-800-925-6272. They will ask you the store location, the time of day, and the problem. They will escalate the problem to the Manager's Manager. Wal-Mart has zero tolerance for complaints, if this Manager treated you that way, there are others that didn't take the time to let Bentonville know about the problem.

Now Dial 1-800-925-6272, and feel better.

Because they're 48 miles away

I have to call them with the list of products I need and have them check stock. It doesn't mean they'll be there when I arrive.I went there three times in a month for supplies and was treated like a foreigner who didn't speak their language. While in Texas, I had the same treatment and the manager there spoke broken English that I was unable to interpret.I too phoned corporate headquarters and got crappy service.

"You are a customer, and the customer is always right."

You are So, So, So, So, So wrong about that, and anyone in retail/service will agree. The majority of customers today believe this because they've seen what happens if you complain enough, loudly enough, and high up enough. Whether you're right or wrong, there comes a certain level when you are likely to get satisfaction, right or wrong.

Yes, the customer IS always right, EXCEPT when they are wrong! This is most of the time, because of the reason cited above! WVkenmore was wronged, and should, by all means, pursue this. However, a blanket statement that all customers are right is in itself not right.

Chuck to be fair you are right. I do remember when a k mart in Louisiana sold carpet shampooers with a policy of repair but a prorated refund, it seems folks would buy one, clean carpet for themselves the neighbors, and probably half the neighborhood and return the machine. I guess it's awful both ways. alr2903

Well, I am glad to see that I am not alone in the battle with them. Ihave spoken to corp office and the main mngr but useless. I went to another store with a 2nd old car that has a battery of theirs in a slow death but is under their warenty. The guy was trying to pick up a very pretty girl instead of working. He came over and asked what I needed , he then looked for the bar code newer cars have with the vehicle id on it,( my car was made before those ) so he said he couldnt help me and to have nice day. So I called 1800 walmart and went off. I wiil buy a diehard and forget the warrenty from wallworld... thanks for the wake up links''

I guess we are very fortunate here, although, Walmart is tru

Here in The Pacific Northwest, Walmart is still a very new thing. In my town of almost one million, we only have two stores;for one very good reason, there is Fred Meyer everywhere you go, this is how it has been most of my life. There are 17 FM stores. Now we also have Winco foods, where most of my food comes from. They are cheaper than Walmsrt. I went in to a Walmart to find Lemon juice. My hope was that I would find it cheaper. I rarely shop there, so I asked for some help finding it. I asked three different people. The first had no idea and told me to ask someone else, who can argue with an honest responce, the second told me the wrong place, and the third, who spoke barely any English, took me to find it, by this time I am ready to leave. When she took me over to where she thought that it was and she pointed and it was lime juice, I turned around and left, but not after the girl yelled and made an unessary spectical of herself. Everyone turned around and looked . I was embarassed for this person as well as bright red myself. I called and told the store and told the person in charge about this while I was driving to Fred Meyer, across the street, It took me 30 seconds to find it.Anyone would have found it right off the bat. This store is layed out more clearly. Walmart has alot to learn about hiring good people that at least know where things are

Another thing I noticed---

--because they have their own version of Costco (Sam's Club),Walmart doesn't always have the larger size of different grocery items like peanut butter, mayonaise, ketchup, spices and flour.I asked one of their employees about it and they told me I needed to get a Sam's Club membership.I told them that I refuse to give them the time of day after they ripped me off for almost $90.Much less shop at their membership store.I am sure that, once the Target store is finished being built and opens in Hilo, the Walmart across the way there will lose customers.
