Carry a Spare

You know. I always thought it would be nice to have a combo that could be used for a spare in the event of a machine failure.

Laundromats aren't the same as they used to be....

According to the user's manual, it can heat the wash to 95C, has a water heating wattage of 2200 and a dry heating wattage of 2100 watts, so IF this machine were made to be sold in the USA, it would need 220 volt electrical service. That Fagor combo on the Sears site is made for 220 volt operation.

Washer Dryer

Nice looking machine, lots of interesting features, direct drive motor, ceramic heater, airwash system (steam??) and the VRT vibration reduction..the Silver Nano Health System is different and even more as it says it leaves the Silver Particles in your clothes for up to a year after!!! Wonder how they will get that passed on the eco front!!

" Silver Wash technology is recognized around the world for its effectiveness in removing harmful, odour-causing bacteria. By adding silver ions to your wash, 99.9% of present bacteria will be killed in minutes. Furthermore, as the silver stays in your clothing, it inhibits bacteria growth for approx. 30 days. With clothes kept in a closet without light, the bacteria resistant coating can be preserved for up to a year!"

Pete, what are you using now after the LG issues??

Combo!

Right now I have a Ariston combo. It is small I do use it but I also do laundry in the laundry room with Maytag Neptunes.
They should have combos over here that are made with both 110 and 220, so people have the options.
They make so much garbage out their. The maytag / whirlpool now has models that tumble for hours after cycle is complete to keep the clothes fresh. I think it is a stupid idea. If they could be doing that it could be drying. Also if these machines use steam they could also be made into combos.

220V/gas

Way back in the 60's when combos were in their hayday here, most brands had either 110V with gas (25 to 30 thousand BTUs)dryer heat or full 220 V for electric heating element(s).Their capacity was 10 pounds dry load. With the technology that has evolved since that era,I see no justified reason for this time we're now in to become a revolutionary period and become an historical event to reintroduce the new combination washer dryers to the consumers who are in the market for new energy and water efficient, space saving combo units.
