Waste King Dishwasher?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Our Family Had A Waste King

When my parents renovated our kitchen in the early 1970's, my mother picked out a bottom-of-the-line WK dishwasher (it was rated last in the November 1971 issue of "Consumer Reports" for the worst washing of any machine tested.) The WK was avocado (of course) and a built-in. I agreed with "CR": No matter which detergent we used or how hot the water was, food was left on the clean dishes. That meant pre-rinsing and a thorough run-through with our Waste King disposal before turning on the dishwasher. (I hated the controls; the knob was covered with a plastic shield so you could not move the dial for a shorter wash or warming plates.)
To its credit, however, the Waste King was trouble-free and the stainless steel interior still looked great when we sold the house a few years later.
