Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

When I first caught a glimps of this machine, I was CERTAIN that it was a Pulsamatic -- the knob and motor reset button placement was different, and the Ultra Clean script was different. I wasn't too disappointed to see that it wasn't a Pulsamatic; I was even wondering if maybe, just maybe, some of the last Pulsamatics spilled over into the 1959 product line. Steve Riley talked me back to reality, and either way, I am very happy to have found this machine.

The rust in the tub is very crusty. I really don't think it is surface only. If not, you all will see a begging post from me for a replacement.

Hi Peter,
What a Great find - I really love the machine. Did this model come with a bleach cup or is that just the TOL models. Hope you get it to work.
Peter

Peter, that is really a great find!! Looks like it is not in bad shape. I bet that tub rust will scrub off. Keep us posted on the progress. Terry

Contratulations on finding this wonderful machine Peter! Can't wait to see the "after" photos of this one.

Peter, what a neat machine, best of luck on getting it up and running. Let us know if you need any extra parts, LOL!

As for the rust, first try sanding it with some fine grit emory cloth (aka black sandpaper) and see how far down it goes. Perhaps, if the holes aren't too big, you could patch them with some 2-part putty epoxy and POR-15?

ah finally the pics

Yes, that's a very interesting find Peter, congrats on the good eye spotting it! Isn't it satisfying to discover a treasure like that yourself by playing Sherlock Holmes? Good luck with the restore.

You found it!

Great machine, Peter. Best of luck with the restoration, I know you'll do your best!

Robert solved a mystery of mine as this unfolded: I'd posted earlier about my cousin's pulsamatic in the "Show us..." thread. It looked a lot like yours, but I'm sure was a pulsamatic, so my confusion over all of Frigidaire's 'Matic's was rekindled. The ad for the '58 explains it. That's probably what she had.

This has been fun!!

Correction...

I'd posted ealier on thread 7800, "A Real Treat", where Robert shared the pulsamatic videos.

Steve(helicaldrive) you are in trouble. I will by no means attempt to work on another one of those at least for another month or so, LOL!

Peter, WOW, I will be visiting gyrafoam and brent later today, just drop it off, and I'll get her clean and going for you to WATCH, not keep. When is the cleaning party?

**ducks and runs**
