Lately I've noticed the water pressure in the door water dispenser is just beginning to slow down. The fridge is a year old, i don't think it's the filter, because when I swapped it with the bypass attachment, nothing changed.

We do have hard water.

No change in the ice cubes.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

it can depend also on your valve, is it installed on top or bottom of the pipe, top is recommended, also a in-line filter clogged?......most of these self-pierce valves are not big enough for proper water flow, better to drill the hole, and install a regular one......this is what happen in our case, but our ice cubes were not filling all the way, and would be hollow when frozen, didn't happen at first, but about 6 months of use and this started happenning, once the service drilled and replaced with a proper one, all worked better, also better pressure from the water thru the door tap.....just a thought!

What a mess

I actually installed the water supply myself. It comes from the main before the lead to the kitchen faucet, is a copper line, and the valve was drilled on top, because the manual indicated that if it's on the bottom, some sediment could accrue.

None the less, after checking the connection, AND having turned off the main water supply, I forgot to purge the system, so I got soaked.... No pressure problems at the source.

My concern is a a hard water deposit somewhere in the fridge, but just a theory. We have a water softener, but intentionally bypass it for drinking water, so, the fridge gets the hard stuff.

Did I mention we are on a well? And prior to the feed to the kitchen, the water is u.v., rust and iron, and reverse osmosis treated? Does this help diagnose the prob?

Thx for the help.
