Well,

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Racks are absolutely virgin. Not a speck of rust anywhere.
And the Wash arm Support... well nothing beats the shine of Pristine Bakelite.

The Schmutz in sump... I think will give up. Very low use machine again from a person that could do dishes by hand better than a machine.

At least this one was not used as a file cabinet or a storage compartment. Well, maybe I am happy about that.

There is a little mildew on the racks. That's fine. Tomorrow will be the water test.

Look at that Shiny Upper Wash Arm. Which I may change out as I have another Top Rack with the full size arm.

Hi Steve.

I thought about bringing it to you to do a thorough going over.

And if your up to it... I just might !!!

Patricia is really Sweet. I am going to wire up a plug tomorrow, Soak with Hot water for a hour and then hopefully see what she can do. : )

Totally up to you!

You know we can have a few good laughs with any machine you bring down. It looks really clean save for whatever that is in the sump. You don't need to bring any extra motor. I have at least 6 of them in a box already that I should get rid of myself.
You really want Patty because she has the constant rinse, right?

See you soon. Keep me posted.
BTW, got a portable washer not doing anything?

"You really want Patty because she has the constant rinse, right? "

EXACTLY. My Hot water for the kitchen is about 20' off the boiler. So Water in the Kitchen is about a serious 160 F all the time.

And Yes, the Constant Rinse makes all the difference after the Spinner Died. That "Slit" on the Upper Wash Arm feed is Crap.

When I bought my KDS-19 I thought I would have the Constant Rinse. I was so bummed out when the top of the tank was bare.

That "Spritzer" makes a huge difference. I have a KDS-20. Great Machine... but I love that None Stop Motor through the whole cycle plus the 9 water changes.

The KDS-20 is OK, but I hate that silence when it's filling. When the 15 series came out I was "Stoned" on the sound of that motor running through the complete cycle never missing a beat until Dry Time

Kitchen Aid!

Great catch Eddie - Patricia is awesome! As long as the water entering the machine is real hot it will clean like a charm!
Best Of Luck with it
Peter

These are great machines. Mine has been a daily driver for ten years now. No problems.

Louis, what is the significance of the DC-4E photo? It was a one-off example that cost so much to operate Doug threw the design in the trash and started all over again with a clean sheet of paper.

Patricia

Aferim! This was the last dishwasher my Parents owned/used. I purchased it for them from a wonderful old housewares store on lower First Avenue called Bloom and Krup.

They had it in their house from 1978 (it replaced one of those primordial GE Front Loaders {which, I've since learned, was a rebadged classic Hotpoint that a lot of collectors on this site have sought. It was working when they moved in and I, of course, thought it was cool, but when they operated it the noise shook the entire house and my Mother wouldn't tolerate it.) all the way to 2002 without even a repair when we sold the house . It was a great machine (would have been near perfect if it heated the water but they kept the water heater set high).

Perfect variety of cycles, easy to load and did the job. I wanted to pull it out of the house before the sale but I balked because I remembered how hard it was to install. The pictures below are from their last year their. The old GE machine was actually 23 3/4" wide so we had to struggle to get the new standard width KA to fit into the space without breaking the radiator on the RH side of the machine and the old Formica counter above. Even though the new owners were bound to gut the kitchen as soon as they moved in everything had to be in "closing condition" when we emptied the house. Pity.
