I can't seem to take apart my Westinghouse blender. Other than maybe the Iona blender in my small collection, all the other blenders dis-assemble to clean.
On the bottom of the plastic jar, under the metal collar that fits onto it, there's a "OFF" and "On" stamped to suggest removal of the metal collar to clean. As you can see, I removed the blade easily. I'd just like to thoroughly clean it, because it looks like the seal was slightly compromised. I've tried using warm water, baking soda, or even dawn soap to coax out the aged whatevers, with no luck.
So taking it apart is the only avenue. I've turned it with grip gloves, tapped it with a rubber mallet and nothing is moving the round metal housing that is labelled "OFF" and "On" with directional arrows.
Does anyone have one of these or knows if this can be disassembled? The OFF/ON has nothing to do with making it work, as this jar just sits down easily on the rubber "gear" and that's it.
Any ideas? Thanks all.
