Westinghouse Continental vs Westinghouse Medallion Electric Ranges

I was recently received a bunch of Westinghouse owners manuals for the Ephemera Library. These manuals originally seem to have come directly from the Westinghouse offices in Mansfield. I'll be scanning and posting a bunch of them in the coming weeks.

The first two I'm posting together in one file as they are very odd, it's for the 1962 Continental/Medallion Electric Ranges. Both manuals are exactly same manual with the same model numbers, but one manual uses the trademark name "Continental" references throughout the manual and the other uses "Medallion" throughout the second manual.

I have no clue what's up with the name change. Obviously Westinghouse decided to stick with Continental over the years, but I wonder what's the reason for Medallion? Does anyone have any idea? I wonder if they originally were going to call these ranges Medallion but ran into trademark infringement issues with that name? The name on the oven door was updated as you can tell from the covers...

I love finds like this, where you get to see how much hand-drawn magic the illustrators of the day were able to pull off, long before Photoshop. Some are better than others...

Of course they had to change the model name on the door... but the revised cover has also removed the black cup(?) to the right of the range, and copied/spliced the entire left edge of the image to eliminate that flub on the railing, causing duplication of both the artwork above and the food on the plate below, plus part of the floor...

I wonder if there were any other subtle tweaks between the two? (The rest of the manual, not just the cover artwork.)

Some of my Maytag manuals show similar corrections to the text, where you can tell portions were altered or spliced in to update the contents.
