I figured I have been neglecting the dishwashers for too long, so on Saturday, I decided to take a run at that Viking (a rebadged Westinghouse) top-load dishwasher of mine that leaks. I have been given some great suggestions as to what is causing the leak, so I figured I would take the valve chamber apart for a look-see.
I'll be darned if I can't even get at those hex-head screws at the bottom of the chamber! The socket sets I tried were all too thick to get into that recess. I tried the small vice-grips and they were also too thick. I tried long-nosed pliers, but couldn't get a decent grip... GRRRR!
Any thoughts or suggestions on what might work here?? I am going to bet that 'Westinghouse tool style Q-XXMCMLVI' is needed...

Wow, Paul, what a dilemma.

Just so happens that Todd (varicyclevoice) has loaned me his MASTER Publications, "Repair-Master for Westinghouse Automatic Dishwasher" book.

I've given it a cursory look, and I can't identify anything in the repair book that looks like your photo above. I'm not saying the book doesn't address your particular situation, I just don't see pictures in the book that look like yours.

Therefore, I need more information and pictures. I need a wider view photo to show me what your machine looks like, and perhaps other photos from different angles so that I can study and compare your machine with the book.

Mike, you have a manual for everything!!

Wow! That repair-master is sure to have some clues to this puzzle! I'll email you some additional photos of the dishwasher so that I don't clog up the board. Thank you (and Todd) !!!
