That'd match nicely with the WestyTopLoader I have.  Too far to fetch.  Can't deal with shipping.  It was a no-go dead-end the time I tried, seller quit responding and the highly-recommended shipper refused the job.

Early 70s Westinghouse electric dryer

These were good average performing dryers much like a general electric or a halo of heat dryer around the same time, not particularly fast not particularly slow less capacity than a 29 inch whirlpool or Kenmore.

The 2 1/2 hour timer was designed so that you could run it on 120 V.

The major weak area of this dryer is the fact that it would have still have a Westinghouse motor, which were awful, once white industries got involved they switched to GE motors, and the dryers were quite a bit more reliable.

2 1/2 Hour Timer

Right indeed, that was the original intent. However I've found one and on half to two hours of dry time are needed for things like cotton ball stuffed pillow cases. The stuffing takes 90 minutes to fully dry on medium, and the knot takes about another 30. Sensor dry and auto dry misses the residual moisture and doesn't take that into account.

Shoe are another item I like to dry on timed dry. Any dryer model with a drying rack also does best on timed dry.

I usually just put 4 dryer balls in, sometimes the wool dryer balls since they make less noise. Usually do that when drying sheets since they have a tendency to ball up. Any dryer can have a tendency to ball up sheets at times, even the venerable Maytag HOH dryers. Though, the Maytag HOHs are good pillow and bedding dryers if you don’t like having to rearrange items every 30 minutes or so.

In my almost 10 years of doing my own laundry, no dryer is perfect, there’s anyways going to be idiosyncrasies with drying performance and characteristics, the design of the machine and components, options and features, etc.
