The Inglis 'Liberator' automatic dishwasher. I believe it's a 1964 model (based on the information Phil got from the original owner when he saved it as well an Inglis washer and dryer pair).

The D&M part
Now, that cabinet is très D&M, but so is this upper rack! Looks very much like the Frigidaire 'Super' models back in the day.

The Whirlpool part
No mistaking those detergent cups that actually look like cups!! The silverware basket is also much like the one on the '61 Whirlpool.
The timer dial control and timer motor is also just like on my other top-load Whirlpool portable.

The GE part
This is the fooler... That's what I call a GE Bow-Tie impeller for sure. The lower rack is so much like a Mobile Maid's that I am liable to get confused.
Interesting that the lower rack has supports for the upper rack - that reminds me of older Hotpoint front-loaders, but I am wondering if that may have standard for a D&M built top-loader that does not have a Roto-Rack.
I've only done a dry test so far and noted the timer works, the heater (dare I say "calrod"?? LOL) works, the motor works in both directions and the water valve solenoid buzzes. As Phil mentioned in the Lady K thread, this machine seems to be most appropriate for St-Liberator... er, sorry, St-Liboire. Water testing in the garage soon - I need to mow the lawn and steel my nerves to try popping the tub out of the Lady K washer. Also have to explore the "new" 1-18 and take the front panel off. Oy, so much to do and so little time!!

Interesting. I wonder how the sound proofing is? My bow tie Mobile Maid sounds like a circular saw.

Steve, there is zero sound insulation on the Inglis dishwasher (like a Mobile Maid or even a Whirlpool top-loader of this ilk)!! I'm looking forward to trying a wash test at some point - Phil said he didn't have very good results when he tried it.

...only you would have the excellent vintage karma to find something wonderful like this. I don't even care how noisy or lousy a cleaner it is, it's an appliance smorgasbord. Didn't you need those very detergent cups at some point?

Yes, Ken, I did - the cups on the '61 Whirlpool Supreme had disintegrated. I found a NOS set, believe it or not!!
A front-load stainless bow-tie Whirlpool dishwasher surfaced a while back, but I passed due to distance... And I'll need the room for that SU70 someday... (arches eyebrows and laughs evilly...)

At about the same time I got this machine, I remember seeing the exact same dishwasher by Whirlpool advertised on Craigslist somewhere in upstate NY, I think it's the one you wanted.
