What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?

Stumbled across these pictures as I'm home now for the summer, and I decided to share 'em with the club. I don't remember either one, as my mom said washers were my very first interest, probably before my earliest memories.

The first one is when we still lived in Soiux Falls, SD, and its our center dial tag. On the left was the dryer, an older Whirlpool. Can anyone tell the year?

And my grandma's washer

I don't remember anything about this washer. Couldn't have even told you that it was a Whirlpool. Anyone want to take a stab on the year?

Dryer looks to be an LDE/LDG series, which is ~1976.

Washer is probably circa 1979 to 1981.
