At our church's summer camp, we have this dryer that works amazingly well for its age. What can you tell me about it? I have attached a picture of the console as well as the model and serial number plate.

I can tell you that it is probably from the late 60's. The washer that matched it was a solid tub one.

This wasn't part of the "Lady Executive" line was it? I couldn't believe how quiet it ran and how quickly it dried. I wish the matching washer was with it, it's paired up with a newer Speed Queen washer.

Hi Peter!

Yes, I included a picture of the console with the same picture of the model/serial tag (it's photo 2 of 2). I was wondering if by the serial number we could determine the date of manufacture. It is an electric dryer that we use at our church summer camp.

thanks!

Dave

What Lawrence said

This is a GE clone from one of the first years they "assimilated" Hotpoint washers and dryers. There was a recent post here with the same dryer that was for sale on one of the internet sites. It's a real Silhouette control panel/backsplash spliced onto a standard capacity GE dryer.

A real Taylor Avenue Hotpoint Silhouette dryer would be at least 31" wide; this one looks very 27". Also, unlike the even earlier dryer pictured below, this one has a GE knob on the control dial.
