Roger was so kind as to lend me a copy of a 1979 Consumer Reports (where the A608 swept the report--and boy do I miss the "Advantages/Disadvantages, A,D,E,M,P/a,l,n,t" form of ratings), and I noticed that--while there was a WCI top-loader and WCI front-loader, there was no Frigidaire to speak of.
Wasn't 1979 the year that GM handed it over to WCI? Did the Frigidaire name take a hiatus, or did Consumer Reports just have one of those moments that they occasionally do where a Frigidaire just wasn't purchased for testing? The article was mum on the matter, so I wondered if any of you knew...
Thanks in advance!
