What happened to White King Detergent?

Does anyone know if it is still made? If so, who makes it?

The last employee of White King was sent home on June 17, 1988. Which is amazing, considering I still occasionally find boxes of White King laundry soap on store shelves. Must be some majorly old stock.

It was by far my favorite "natural" laundry soap for many years, although like many pure powdered soaps it was a real hassle to use in hard water or cold water, especially hard AND cold water. Rinsing in these cases often entailed scooping out spoonfuls of soap scum during the wash cycle.
