well actually wonder if it had anything to do with GM sponsorship/product placement, you know she loved her Chevy commercials. 

 

 

 
 
I don't recall Doris Day ever doing Chevrolet commericals, I believe you're thinking of Dinah Shore, "See the USA in your Chevrolet". Probably the reason for the Frigidaire appliances in her movies of the "Send Me No Flowers" vintage is because they were filmed at Universal. Likewise, most Universal movies from the 60's will have cars from Chrysler Corp. if the star is in or around a car.

Appliances those days wouldn't tip over either.
Made me think of Robin again, and a woman who also used a door knob. She made up her face first. She wanted to look pretty.
One never knows quite how they will handle depression, or a tragic illness.
Three hours of suffering may be enough, so I don't judge. Some are alone, with no one to use their life insurance.
