What year are these Maytag? Which ones are superior?

Photo 1 is earlier than the other 2 pics. Those 806's have been around quite a while, a bit pricy.
The Cordoba Copper pair........
is from 06 series of 1966-1974. The White pair is from the 08 series of 1976-1980. Actually the white washer could actually be a 1975 model too as that was the first year they offered gold trim on the Maytags control panels. The Dryer cannot be a 1975 model though because 1975 was the last year for the Halo-of-Heat Dryers and it was also the only year a Halo-of-Heat Dryer had a gold trimmed control panel. The white model in the picture is what is known as the Big Load Dryer (aka Stream-of-Heat Dryer). The SOS design was made by Maytag all the way to the bitter end of Maytag being Maytag. From what I have heard the Big Load dryer has a bigger drum then the Halo-of-Heat and also dries quicker too (am I right guys?) As for the washers I think the only notable difference between the two might be the fact that they simplified the bleach dispenser starting with the 08 series (am I remembering correctly guys?) Brown washer is bit older, large capacity - top of the line. Bleach dispenser mixes with load through the pump. White washer is single speed, standard capacity, bleach funnel to outer tub.
White dryer is a more agreeable size and speed than HOH, but the HOH will hold it's own with most loads.
Get both sets.

If Maytag really wanted to, they could have kept the Halo Of Heat, but they could have made it more like the DE50 portable dryer (instead of having the dryer drum on a standing chassis, they could have used a bearing in the rear on the full size models, and they could have used rollers in the front, and they could have used a belt that went around the drum, and the blower could have had its own belt).
