Back at the end of May there was an ad posted here for a 57-58 30" GE range located in WI priced at $20.00. At that point the ad was almost a month old. I noticed the griddle was shown with it. I made contact with the seller and asked if he'd be interested in selling the griddle if no one purchased the range. He said yes considering the time that had elapsed w/o selling it. He stated the range had been purchased new by his parents. He didn't like the thought of it being scrapped but it looked like it would end that way.
He then mentioned he and his wife might be coming through NYS (where I'm located) on the way to RI the end of June. They would be renting a trailer to take a load of furniture to their daughter in Providence. He said if it worked out that way he could probably add the whole range to the load. I said I was interested and would take the range if it were possible for him to bring along. Been in touch with him this week. He stated the range would be removed from his parents basement this coming weekend. He and his wife do plan on visiting their daughter and are going to bring most of her furniture with the trailer and most likely will have room for the range.
He is asking me what I'm willing to pay for shipping in addition to the $20.00 price for the range. I didn't expect him to bring it along only for the $20.00 price and want to be fair. I understand he's having to load it and meet with me somewhere along the way. At the same time taking the range out of the basement (the house is being sold), renting the trailer and heading to RI were all going to be done before his suggestion of bringing it along.
I'm kind of at a loss as to what to offer him for bringing it along on the trip. I don't want to insult the guy. At the same time we all like to purchase our "treasures" as cheaply as possible.
