WHATSIT ???

Hi All,

Chuck and I did a little antique shopping, today, and I happened to pick up this little item. I had never seen it before....have you?

I know that you are all just burning with desire to guess this item. It measures about 6" high by 5" wide by 3" deep. Made of stainless steel wire with a Bakelite handle. It was used in either a kitchen or dining room during any time of the day. With all of this information/clues the answer should just pop up at you!

The first person to guess will win the distinguished position of being a brilliant person with a fantastic imagination. I wouldn't have guessed what it was had it not come in its box.

Any ideas?

though I will have to say that Toggles does take the prize for the most imaginative!! Oye...what am I going to do with you, Steve

Many of you came so close. It is called "Toast Lifter" and it was to make extracting your toast easier. No more shoving a knife into the slot to get that stubborn toast that refuses to pop up.

It claims to fit all pop-up toasters but I have tried it in several toasters and it will fit into some and not others. I can't imagine that it was too popular. Has anyone else ever seen one?

I will try to come up with another "whatsit" tonight.
