finally got round to uploading some vids of the Whirlpool 8100 series t/l on youtube. This machine is a bit broken when it gets to draining and spinning, these machines only did neutral drains, which this one used to do. Now however it does a 2 second nutral drain then it starts to spin, which is odd, then it stps and starts again at the part where the spin was supposed to begin, you see this is the Spin Drain vid.
Other than that, its rough on clothes and doesn;t rinse well, but meh, its only our reserve machine, my mum uses an f&p regularly now and we only drag this thing out to wash duvets and big things once every so often.
Anyway, pardon the intro bit to the first bit, i just needed some music to wash to lol.
enjoy

Whirlpool Direct Drive Washers

Hi Matt,
Thank you for the video.
Unfortunately the spin draining is a symptom of a worn transmission but in saying that it could still run for many years. The coupler is more likely to fail than the motor.
I have a Whirlpool 3LSC8255EQ1 here in the UK and it has been running perfectly since 1997, they are generally quite reliable machines and touch wood it still neutral drains.
Whirlpool Direct Drive washers spin at 650RPM and actually spin a lot better than one would expect from such a slow spin speed don't you think?
