I have a Whirlpool Calypso that has a LD error that oddly enough isn't related to the pump. It still has the original square profile pump but I have tried replacing with the newer style and to no avail. Unfortunately since some plans have changed, I cannot store it in any longer in the garage for further attempts to repair (I'm thinking that it might be related to the logic board).

If anyone wants to give it a second chance (It's been a very reliable washer for most of its life) then you're welcome to come by and take it. It has been mechanically sound since it was in the house until the problem with it erroring out on a long drain. The problem is I unfortunately cannot hold onto it any longer and try to repair it so it'll end up having to go with the garbage company eventually. I know that there are fans of the unique swirling washing motion for a high efficiency toploader. Cosemtically it has a small chip on the top of the porcelain on the round over near where the lid closes, otherwise it still otherwise very good.

I'm in Southern Orange County in California.

There's also a White-Westinghouse electric dryer (Model DE640KDD-1) that is avaliable for free. It was last used around two and a half decades ago and has sat in the garage. If anyone wants it then it is also up for grabs. I am not sure if there's any interest in it, but it'll most likely meet the same fate. I cannot verify if it'll still run since there's no 220V for it.
