Whirlpool Calypso washer - Does Water Remain After Cycle is Finished?

Hi guys... this year I decided to buy a Calypso set. The washer works fine. However when I move the tub, as it reacts to my hand drying,(ok ocd..lol),I hear some sloshing of water. I remember DaDoes(Glenn)has posted some of his restoration/repairs on these machines and I know there's a reservoir below where water becomes contained for the wash/rinse cycle. Is the small amount of water heard sloshing around, after the cycle is done, normal? I'm concerned that the rinse cycle isn't purging all the water out of the reservoir. Again I only noticed this because when I move the tub I can hear some water down below.

A small amount of water remains in the pump and tub sump but more likely you're hearing the liquid in the balance ring at the top of the basket.  Set it to spin-only, let it get up to full speed then open the lid so it stops.  There'll be a momentary liquidy-whoosh sound when the basket brakes and the balance ring water sloshes around.

I selected extended spin and before it terminated at the 7 minute mark, I lifted the lid. Whatever small whoosh presented itself, it sound s normal. Thanks ..one other thing is a slight skunky smell that reminds me of a sewer odor. Other than running a liquid bleach cycle using hot water, which I haven't tried yet, has anyone else experienced an odor also? I bought this from someone who lived near the lake. If the water was more mineral rich, I'm thinking it might be why it's slightly smells.?

What is a recommended liquid bleach? Is it OK to just run a full normal hot cycle with a capful of this liquid bleach?

depending on its past life....

might not be a bad idea to lift the top, and remove the splash shield, and balance ring, and scrub down all surrounding areas....a heavy dosage of bleach would be helpful.....

I don't know how some get so filthy/nasty, but it happens, the only way to kill any odor or scum, is to get at the source....

you could always try a bleach cycle.......using hottest water available, a cup or two of bleach, and even a cup of dishwasher detergent, use either the Heavy Duty or Whitest Whites cycles

The Whitest Whites cycle instruction is to use 1 full measured cup (8 oz.) of chlorine bleach (which is what the dispenser holds) but that seems a lot for Calypso's low water usage (large load-size is also to be considered).  Also depends on the bleach product.  Some of the newer concentrated formulas advise to use 1/2 measured cup (4 oz).

Anyway ... for cleaning the machine with bleach (and no clothes), use the Heavy Duty cycle for maximum water action and add the bleach through the detergent dispenser so it goes in immediately.  The bleach dispenser flushes during the last few mins of the wash period.

Also run a cycle with a good dose of Lemishine or such.

And the results?

As hoped, the 1/4 cup of Chlorox added to the soap dispenser and the Calypso set on hot wash/Heavy Duty cycle completely purged the sewer-odors. Applause for the help offered. Out of curiosity, I removed the agitator(?)cap. It just had some well-formed dirt around it that came off like a washer. I only wonder if that gray vinyl seal at the bottom is ok if it's slightly showing some space between the stainless steel tub and its circumferential edge?

It has NO traces of odor...thanks for the suggestions Glen and Martin. I sure would prefer to not open this up...no room in this apartment. But, at the same time I'd like to clean, lube, and discover what is hidden. Not now.
