Hi! Fellow AW/Club members, I wrote a Posting several months ago, asking about what any of you have used of a Sealant on a Whirlpool/Kenmore Washer Outer Plastic Tub Repair?

I unfortunately lost my Computer and Internet for quite some time, so the Posting/Thread is no doubt not available any longer.

I would gratefully appreciate it if all who have suggestions of Products, that I can look into, I would be ever so grateful for what anyone would recommend to me.

Peace and Kind Regards, Steve

Whirlpool/Kenmore Tub Repair:

Hey! Steve "Toggles" thank you for your reply, I'm not sure if that would work, if it isn't able to withstand Detergent, Bleach and Fabric Softener and Hot Water, without loosing it's strength and durability.

Peace, Kind Regards and Happy Holidays, Steve

Steve,

It seems to me that you have two conflicting needs - and I know of no single compound which can resolve both conflicts equally well.

Here is what I'd do. on the outside of the tub, I'd use fiberglass cloth (like for car body work) and an adhesive which sticks to that plastic (there will be a code for the plastic stamped into it somewhere, from that you can find the right adhesive.

On the inside, I"d use a sealant (making sure it can adhere to this plastic) which is resistant to the chemicals and water. There should be a silicone product or epoxy designed for that specific problem.

That's how I'd tackle it.
