Before I put up my outside decorations I run all the glass from the various exterior fixtures and lampposts through the dishwasher.  I have a vintage WP in the basement just for this stuff and various waste baskets that I would not want in my regular DW.  Ran two loads, the second was from my lampposts, colonial type with clear sides and top and a frosted glass chimney around the bulb.  I tuck these in the corners of the DW to protect them, but I guess not well enough, the force of the water actually either lifted the glass or shattered it with it's force, heard some odd noise and checked, one of the 4 chimneys was in pieces.

I don't think any modern DW has that kind of water pressure, they appear to just sprinkle the dishes for hours.  I wish this machine had a bit more flexibility with the racks I can see loading cups and glasses not to mention just about anything in the top rack would be a pain.

Long, long time ago (probably in the early 80's) a friend of ours complained that whenever she would wash wine glasses in her dishwasher they would all end up broken.
The brand of the machine is long forgotten, but I do remember that it broke glasses.

We have a similar gas light outside of our house. We clean it by putting the panes & chimney in the bath tub after they have cooled off. Then we soak them in a mild solution of Dawn, and rinse and finish with a rinse of water/vinegar. The dry with a microfiber cloth. 7 years later they still shine and look like new and no calcium deposits on the glass either.
