whirltag/maypool dryer advice needed

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a Maytag dryer model # MED5740tqo that they can share?

Problems are:
1. No cool down period---heat continues to cycle on/off till the dryer shuts off.
2. I replaced the 4 position temp. switch but there is no difference in the temp. on the 3 selectable temp. settings. There is no heat on the air only selection, but the other 3 selections are all HOT!

Any suggestions?

Lack of cool down period would be caused by faulty timer. Timer contacts between timer terminals BK and R open during cool down to open heat circuit. A grounded heater coil would also cause this problem but would also cause heat during air only. Failure of temp selection is likely due to a faulty thermostat or bias heater which is an integral part of the thermostat. Wiring diagram is available here.
