I have been trying to find info on what company makes which disposal.I am talking about old ones.I just ordered a National disposer its New in box but Old and have No Idea who made them.I know Bus-boy used to make them for the homes and Maytag and Kitchenaid made there own but now there are only Three of manufacters now.Ise,Wasteking, and White-Rock they make Sinkguard.I collect these things and finding info on them is HARD.I have about 9 of them my Goal is to find a Old Maytag but I have only seen one of them on ebay and I got out bid next time THAT will not happen.I rember the Nail grinding commercials when I was young now eveything is Ise Junk well the New Evolution Excel is O.k. It is Very quite and does grind better but its no Old School Job has that cheap stamped Grind ring like all of them. The Waste-Kings are SO Noisy and the Clicking impellers drive me NUTS I am talking about the ones today not the good ones from the 80s.

I've got 2 of the maytags. TOL, Harvest Gold plastic outer shell with the foam insert. I too remember the grinding nails bit, the store where my mother bought it did the demo for us. I replaced the grinder ring a number of times on the original, it developed a problem that i don't recall and I replaced it with it's twin branded Jen-Air. Between the two of them that's 30+ years of hard use. I have the original up in the garage attic just in case....

Its been soi long since I have seen disposers with the big heavy swing hammers-now the trend is towards smaller and smaller hammers and cheap stampted shred rings. No more cast shred rings.

I think the National Disposers were made by Hobart Manufacturing, but I am talking the REAL old ones (80's and older). When you get the one you just bought, check the label - it would say for sure if it was made by Hobart.
Hope this helps!

Well the Pics say Integrity supply inc.Columbus Ohio..But it also has Anaheim refrence on it.I dont know if this is a National to be honest in the check these Pics.I have a feeling it might be a OLD (60s) Tappan of some sort.He might have got mixed up cause he has a National stopper in another Pic but he also has a Two Ise stoppers in the same pic with it.I can't read the words on the front of it but it dont say national on it.

ahh yes....

That is a 1970's Anaheim-Tappan, NOT anywhere near Hobart. Could we have a better picture? I have a Caloric ULTRA-Matic from the early 70's with a similar shell, I am curious if thats the TOL or MOL Anaheim

The Pics are not the best there are two more one that shows a Pics of the stoppers all three of them and one of them is old and the same color and says National on it I guess that is why they listed it as that. This Pic I am is the Mod number and so on I dont know if this is a TOL its Probally a Mol its only a 1/2 H.p. but with these older ones I have been told that 1/2/ Hp was the Norm for TOL.So I have NO clue...

name

Your disposal is actually a NATIONLINE, not a National.
I have the Caloric UltraMatic version. Here is Mine:

the works

Stainless disk and teeth, heavy cast hammers, but an aluminum hopper...note again the red epoxy coating for corrosion protection

Yours is in excellent shape.I was hoping for a cast grind ring if mine looks like yours but I bet its looks just like that though on the inside the hammers are huge compared to what you normal see.Was there ever a disposal company that made there disposer look like a bear trap you know I mean Blades and teeth and the whole works. If I was going to make one I would make it look like a monster. My collection is growing still looking for that Maytag I dont know why there so Rare.I have only saw one on ebay and I bid 250 bucks and got outbid at the last Min.It was a 3/4 Hp Batchfeed next time I will bid like 500 bucks and go from there if I haved to I dont care but I will get it someday.I have never seen a Busboy for the home Ever I know they made them though. My Aunt has a Elkay and I dont know who made it she got it in the 80s.

Anaheim

Never had a cast grind ring, ever, they were always stamped, and on their cheap models not even galvanized!

Elkay was made by Bus Boy. I have three versions of the Bus Boy home models. Not super exciting...
Here they are:

No cast hammers here...

Stamped SS ones with only a 90 degree swivel instead, but with the same teeth as the deluxe model.
