Will send Amanda and Dan to go get it next weekend. Will post some more pixs of it after I get it home.

YOU DA MAN, RICK!!

Hey Rick!

That is one gorgeous jukebox; and at a whopping 500 lbs., a huge one too!! Is it a 1954 or 1955? Did Seeburg manufacture the way auto manufacturers do; that is, a 1955 model actually manufactured in 1954?

I am so excited that your 2007 is starting on a fab "note"!!

Tell Amanda and Dan to take extra special care of her!!

Congrats again!! :-D

BTW - it's "shorts" weather here today. C'mon down to Texas if you get tired of the Mid-Worst!

Hey Venus....Thanks for the invitation!

I been tired of the Mid-Worst for years. And when I retire, my a** is outahere! lol!! Will have a big garage sale too!

This is a 1955 model. Don't know why he listed it as a 1954. I just spoke with the owner a few minutes ago. He seems like a great guy, and will help load the 500 lb jukebox into Dans pickup truck.

Wish it was "shorts" weather here..... All we seem to get is cold-wind-rain. It sucks so bad! I don't mind the cold, and snow. But the wet and cold chills my a**. I just hate the weather here. And the global warming has made it even worse.

May go to Cancun this Winter, but will have to wait and see.
I also have some good friends in Austin TX that want me to come down to visit.

Seeburg V200 specs

It is listed here as a 1955 model. The VL200 is listed as a 1956 model. Have never seen a VL200. I guess the trim colour is different.

Oh, Lawrd, bandwidth! lol!

B-word.....*SLAP*! (LOL)

This is wonderful Rick, congratulations!!

Come join us hotties here in LA! There are a couple vacancies here in the courtyard...would you like me to snag you one? ;-)

I hope to get there to visit you before you move away. During one of a few certain months of the year that is, of course! LOL

It's gorgeous, Rick; Congratulations!

This is the jukebox which was at The Wheel Inn steak house in Watertown, SD when I was a youngster. Spent hours watching it work and feeding it coins to play my favorite songs while the adults finished their meals and talked over cigarettes and coffee.

Excellent score there Rick! It is funny you mentioned a few weeks ago that you've always wanted one of these - and here she is! Keep us posted with updates on this beauty, I can't wait to hear (and see) it change a record - wow!

Ben

Thanks guys! I have a friend with a really nice video camera, so after the amp has been rebuilt, and the rest of the juke is restored, we will be making a You-Tube video of the Seeburg. I am VERY happy to have found this!

Pete, I think this juke would fit in the trunk of the 55 Cadillac just fine, but don't think the lid would close all the way. Have used the trunk in that car for hauling the most unusual stuff. From 25 bags of mulch, to a set of 1958 Maytags. That car has been so much fun to have! We even ghost ride it. Put the transmition in "low" and it will only upshift into second gear.(4 speed trans) Exit the car, jump on the rear bumper and it takes us along at about 4mph, while we hold onto a tail fin. (no coasting for us)Just perfect for it! lol! We only do it in empty parking lots, but do we ever get the lo^oks. <:

No kidding

Rick,

I have a Seeburg Select-O-Matic 100G. I used to have a 1961 Coupe de Ville, and with the removal of 4 bolts, the trunk lid comes off and voila you have a bed larger than some pick-ups. That Seeburg was moved more than once in that Cadillac. I also moved washers and dryers in it.

I love your V200, mainly it's beauty, but I like having 100 records in there. My Seeburg holds just 50, for 100 selections.

I found a guy in the area to rebuild my amp and reciever. When I first got it (in 1973) the bass was super, but it has deteriorated over the years. I thing a re-build will cure this.

Rick,

Glad you found your dream, it's beautiful, but... four grand? Yikes! Enjoy!

Back in the '60's my high school english class was treated to a matinee performance of "Midsummer's Night Dream" at the Curran (I think). My favorite part of the whole event was that they put this very old, rounded, rainbow lit jukebox (30's? 40's?) on the left side of the stage, in front of the curtain. The thing would light up and the sound system would play Mendlesohn's great music of the same name. I've always wanted a jukebox like that, but I suspect they fetch top dollar.

Hi Martin, I had a 61 Coupe de Ville also! I used to go out to L.A. every year. Sometimes I would fly out, and fine a classic car and drive it back here. Then clean it up, drive it a year or two, and sell it for a profit. People here wanted the rust free West Coast cars, but didn't know how to go about finding them and transporting them back here. (before ebay) Bought the 61 Cadillac in Montery for $1850.00, drove it for two years and sold it for $3800.00 That was in 1982, so $3800.00 was more than enough to pay for my vacation, plus I didn't need to rent a car out there.

I have Harold Hagen rebuild my amps and vintage car radios. He is in Seattle, so it is not that far for you to ship your amp to him. He is the best in the business. He writes for Always Jukin magazine. Here is a link to his web site.

Would love to own one of the early 50's Seeburgs someday! Even though they only hold 50 records, they are some of the most stunning examples of Seeburgs. I just love them!

Thanks guys!

Hey Suds!
Yes,$4000.00 is a lot of money, but these were selling for $10,000.00 to $13,000.00 just a few years ago. I know the 1950's jukes seem to have slipped in value a bit the last while, but they never give them away. I think this one would have gone for more a lot more $$$$, if the owner had not listed it just after the holidays, and before tax time.

Hey there Greg!
No, I really don't want jukeboxes upstairs. As much as I do love them, they really clash with a victorian decor. lol!
It will go down the basement in the rec room. I may sell my other Seeburg, or may give it to my brother for his basement. Or I may keep it.
One reason that I confine the washers to one room is so I don't crowd the rec room. I really don't want to crowd the rec room with jukes either though.
So we shall see. <:
Was glad the owner is willing to help load this thing in Dans truck. As you know, Dan prolly only weighs 150lbs soaking wet. He and Amanda will need help loading the Seeburg for sure!

Vintage toys are the best kind of toys

Hi Steve

Thanks man, anytime is a good time to get a Seeburg! But yes, we are "housebound" for so much of the winter around here, so may as well restore another jukebox this year.
