Hey Guys -
This is something I've never heard of. I know Zenith had some pretty cool stuff in the late 70's - but I've never seen anything like this.
In case the link goes dead on CL - here are the details from the ad:
.......
"My old roommate "let" me have this TV when we went separate ways. It's served me well for years, but now I'm upgrading.
The best thing about this monstrosity (besides its perfectly good use as a television) is that it has a phone cable to plug in so that you can make calls from the television, as shown in the second photo. State of the art at its time, I'm sure. I haven't used it in a long time, and the calls weren't of the greatest quality when I did. Still, it's an entertaining novelty to show off and my friends are obsessed with the existence of a space phone.
So although I'm not asking money for the ginormous console, you'll still have to get it off my hands. I don't know how heavy it is. Really heavy. I've moved it around my house by myself by pushing/sliding it, but it's a real pain to carry.
It was my roommate's grandma's tv, so I'm not sure how old it is. It works just fine, except that every once in a while, not often enough to be annoying, the picture stops working. You just turn it off and on again and then you're fine if that happens.
The actual screen is 24" measured diagonally, but the dimensions of the beast itself are 49" wide x 31.75" tall x 19" deep. It's all wood on the outside."
.......
The best of two dying technologies - analog TV and land line telephones!
