I can keep mine, daughters, mother in laws direct drive whirlpool/kenmore washers and dryers going but now my daughter in law/son/grandson's newer non-direct drive units are going bad. What brand/models should I recommend to them if they are going to have to go to Lowe's or Home Depot? Thank you, Paul

Thank you. I am so fond of direct drive Whirlpool/Kenmore that I told her to stick with top load with agitator types, Paul
Every top loader except a Speed Queen TC5003 is an under designed piece of junk. If you want new, this is the way to go. Otherwise, get an LG front loader as they have the best package of reliability, performance, and options.

Used Speed Queen top loaders made in the last 15-ish years with a mechanical timer are a great deal with much better flexibility and options vs the new ones made from 2018 to the present.

Both are based on genuine commercial designs instead of knockoff claiming to be so. Durable, reliable, dependable. Great cleaning coupled with excellent fabric care. They are the best washer and dryer that money can buy today hands down. Most everything else is not even worth half of what you pay, even the washers and dryer which are more expensive than these two models. Buy and don't look back.
