I can find no evidence that Vivian ever lived in Palm Springs. She lived in Pacific Palisades during the 1950s, them moved to Stamford, CT after she remarried. A few years prior to her death, she moved to Belvedere, CA near her sister. However, Lucy and Desi had a Palm Springs home.

I didn't read the verbiage but it strikes me as odd that, considering the vintage of these pieces, Vivian Vance would have had anything other than Westinghouse appliances unless she had a firm preference for gas, even for the oven.

Back in 1986 Dave and I rented a home in a 1954 development that had all gas kitchens. Our Western Holly cooktop and oven were more of an off-pink/tan color. The oven was already gone, but there were plenty of them in various colors still in service throughout the neighborhood. The cooktop was a total tank and performed well. Almost all of the gas refrigerators had been replaced. In our kitchen, the cavity for the fridge was turned into a giant pantry. In some cases, non-working refrigerators were left in place and used for storage. I don't know if they were Servel or some other make.
