Thanks, I just was wondering about the "Dawn" additive on the label, and hope it doesn't clog up with suds.I will say that it has a very nice scent and it cleans nice.

I have always had oversudsing issues with both Finish and the old, now discontinued, Electrsol.answer to questions
Thanks for the quick responses!! I never, never, never ever pre-rinse and the water is medium hardness, leaning toward soft. I don't use rinse aid. The over sudsing happens all the time with Cascade and often with Finish. Currently I have been using WalMart's Great Value powder, but I hate going to WalMart. When I can find it, I use Cascade powder. I haven't seen Finish powder for several years. Don't even know if it's still made. I don't like not being able to control the amount of product I use. (and I feel the same way about laundry pods, but that's another story). I always load both dispensers and mostly use the 1 hour cycle on both machines that uses more water and less time. Unless an item has something burnt or baked on, this cycle never fails me.
Funny, because I've noticed that Cascade claimed to have Dawn in it. It doesn't matter if it's powder, gel, or packs. For the record, P&G doesn't actually "put" Dawn in their detergent pacs.
It's just an internal co-marketing thing because P&G also owns Dawn. And they want everyone to KNOW that Dawn is "tough on grease."
But it's not the same ingredients.
Well gee, it smells and sounds like marketing to me.Seems reasonably clear that there's no way to incorporate the literal liquid Dawn product into dishwasher powders, gels, or pacs/pods ... either in native liquid form or somehow freeze-dried to be reconstituted upon contacting water ... due to the extreme sudsing that would occur in a dishwasher.
I just want something that performs well and does the job.Well gee, it smells and sounds like marketing to me.

If you have an older machine with the 2 dispensers, they were made for powders and gels. If using pods just put it in the 2nd dispenser. The first dispenser cycle becomes a long prewash.answer to questions

Ok,that should be fine. Did you ever consider a little Citrus acid in the first dispenser? As a pre-clean of the dishwasher.I always put the pod in the main wash dispenser and squirt a little liquid gel or ppwder detergent on the door. Although there's noofficial prewash dispenseer, there seems to be a small indention on the detergent dispenser on my Bosch once I close the deterrget dispenser door.
Yes of course it’s marketing. These are marketing dominant and driven organizations. On consumer goods, engineers and chemists are subservient to marketing.Well gee, it smells and sounds like marketing to me.
