If anybody needs some belt drive transmissions, I was sorting them out. This is only about half the pile the other week. These are all in decent shape. None have water in them, etc., my only problem is shipping them. It’s too time-consuming if anybody wants to pick one up depending on the unit it would be between 50 and $100. I also have many agitators and GE FF clutch and motor assemblies that can be sold, I will probably just recycle all but maybe 6 of them soon.

A no/never on shipping such increasingly hard-to-find items puts a crimp on people for whom the inconvenience/ruckus/time involved in making a cross-country journey to fetch one typically far outweighs the cost paid for shipping it. IMO. It'd be a ~1,500-mile (one way, 3,000 miles round-trip) jaunt for me for example.

Based on Chet's repeated assertions that valve 358277 is one of the best things man has ever created, I purchased said valve last month and I'm going to install it in my Speed Queen AWN542. Thank you, Chet. I am very much looking forward this potentially life-changing event.

Maybe instead of using it, you should display it prominently on a shelf in your home, maybe with a subtle spotlight showing on it, and a little of the history of it displayed along side.

Maybe it's just me, but when I do laundry, I take the basket downstairs, put detergent in the tub, softener in the dispenser, add dirty laundry. Close the lid, push several buttons, and walk back upstairs.
If it takes 30 seconds, or 30 minutes to fill, I wouldn't know, I'm busy doing something else. When I hear the buzzer, I take said laundry, now clean, and put it in the dryer, with a fabric softener sheet. Close door, and push several buttons again.

Am I missing something?

Since I put one in my Speed Queen I have not looked back or regretted it. 50/50 no longer has me switching to hot and the cycle time has sped up thanks to the quick fills.

There should be one on display at the Guggenheim. Halogen Par Floods shining, the valve on a pedestal, descriptive plaque beneath it.

Nine degrees fahrenheit at 10 AM this morning. my son and I set off for Lincoln, NE (45 min away) to pick up the lo dollar KM washer. We stopped and took a tour of the Museum of American Speed, lunch and then home.
Overall, the washer isn't too bad, though the ad (and Mrs. washer-seller) said it was not spinning, it was agitating they meant. Too cold in the garage for wash water play, it sounds ok, spins fast and brake is good. Water level control is stuck on MED. Once the weather warms a bit, I'll explore a little more.

The Museum of American Speed was very worthwhile. All things racing from pedal cars & models to land-speed record holding rocket cars.

Some of our car-folk here may recognize the Dealer name on the window sticker of the Bel Air Sport Sedan. Lambrecht Chevrolet of Pierce, Nebraska was a dealer that left barns filled with brand new cars and trade-ins back to the 50's. It was a big story at the time, lots of treasures found. This was one of those cars with 2 miles on the odometer.

Certainly the old saying “To each his own” applies here. I agree with Mark for myselt though, as I usually hover around the washers when they are running, and I enjoy listening to the machine, watching the action, and even the smell of the detergent. Sometimes I hover for a good purpose though, as my 1977 KM Penta Swirl machine, when full, is just getting around to turning the load over in rinse when the 2 minutes are up, for which I extend the rinse time by using 3-4 minutes of the perm press wash period, then return the timer to the Normal cycle rinse.

If I'm not hoovering around the washer, I'm listening to it majestically sing. Always have been blessed with the washer and dryer being inside the home, close to the living area within earshot. Still love the bell chime of the dryer, too.

Amazing that you have parts like that. Maybe I could give you some washer model numbers and see what you may have.
