LG Front loader.. Time for an update!

The real money savings with a modern front-load washer Comes from not having to use as much hot water. Heating domestic water is often the biggest energy consumer in most homes. PS Peteski, the LG hasn't given me any trouble at all, thank you again. My clothes are wearing out less, I do fewer...

    Waste King Garbage Disposal..

They're actually built in China, I replace a lot of these for leaks and I just had one where the grinding plate simply unthreaded off the motor shaft. They seem flimsy, take apart an ISE and you'll see the difference. They are also sold as Franke.

I think my washer just died...

Will it agitate? If not the coupler between the motor and transmission is broken, very simple repair. If the coupler is intact the next likely culprit is the drive block atop the spin tube, these are a known failure issue but very much more complicated. Could also be the clutch or the...

    The one that got away...

That is one heck of a garden! To grow one of the rare blue Whirlpools is astounding! I'll send you some Duo-Matic seeds if I can find where I left them.

    Message for CleanteamofNY Malber WD800

The blower wheel gets clogged with lint and stops blowing air around. Pull it apart, clean the blower wheel and vacuum out anything else you can get to. Run it with the top off to see if the blower motor spins in dry mode. Be sure to check the heating element and thermostats for continuity while...

    Maytag MAH4000AWW Washer

The machine control board (the one up top) has markings to indicate what is what. There is a resistor which is marked "r11" and if the door lock wax motor shorts out, the resistor passes too much current through itself and releases the internal smoke. It will be clearly visible if it has been...

Whirlpool also sells their products under the Kitchenaid, Roper, Estate, Inglis (Canada), Maytag, Amana and Magic...

    Where might I find plexi-glass?

My Home Depot carries it but they don't do precision cuts. Should be able to get a piece at almost any hardware store or home center. Plexi-Glass cuts real easily with most standard wood-working hand or power tools.

    Calypso!!!!!!!!! questions and pics

You were warned, this is just the beginning. Speaking as a former AHS contractor, oddball stuff that is difficult to work on gets completely back-burnered or even denied on principle. The other contractors in my area were not very sharp at all, I certainly wouldn't trust them to repair a...

    Should I............?

Under no circumsatnces should you ever buy a Calypso, new or used, freshly repaired or not. Better to throw the money right down the drain. Whatever money you may save on water will be spent on the next reapir it needs. If you want a reliable machine to save water, get a Staber, F/L Frigidaire...

interesting map of electricity costs in the USA

Miele makes a special box which plugs into a 240v outlet and splits it into two outlets, one for the washer, one for the dryer. Only costs around $250 but you can make something similar for about $20 in electrical parts. They come up on ebay every so often.

Need advice from the Lawn Boy Club

Don't shoot any ether-type or any other kind of starting fluid into it either. You could easily score the cylinder or worse. If the carb was stored full of gas it is probably gummed up real good and will need to be cleaned. I like lacquer thinner for this. Good luck.

    dryerballs

Playtex 18-Hour Rival? Says they "lift and separate" fibers. What a crock! Sounds like those magnetic fuel filters for your car that supposably double your mileage. Imagine having to buy blue balls, I guess I am lucky as I can get them for free.

    Another Push Button Maytag Dryer

Looks like a BOL LG next to it? Any other guesses?
