Philips AWB series parts free to a good home !

I have a good used Polypropylene outer drum for the Philips AWB series washing machine. It is from a AWB088, 1000 spin speed. 2 slots for heaters and a hole below to fit a 2 stage temperature switch. It is not suitable for the later variatronic as these had a smaller hole for a thermistor bulb...

    Ebay UK March 2012!

Philips, Ebay Bought that machine on Ebay for donor parts. It turned out to be a well used AWB088 from 1983. Ideal parts donor for our Super Variatronic as all mechanicals are the the same. Just in the process of refurbing the PM Polymotor with new bearings and brushes.

    Philips AWB098

Valuable Philips I had better keep our Philips AWB098 in good running order then. I wonder what its value might be with a full box of 'critical' spares such as motor, programmer etc ?

    Philips AWB098

Have noticed one has just sold on Ebay for 52.82. A lot of money ? although it stated as being in working order so perhaps not too much to pay for a rare beast.

    No error codes here ! ( Philips AWB098, 1984 )

Philips Tub to pump Hi there No have not had to change any hoses on this machine, they are all in good nick. Fortunately I had a donor Philips that I stripped down for bits when my Mother moved house, but have not needed anything major just yet. I have a wanted ad in Freecycle and Preloved but...

    No error codes here ! ( Philips AWB098, 1984 )

I became aware the old workhorse wash washing at completely random temps when preset to the correct setting. Checked 2 leads from front control pcb to thermistor which read about 100K Ohms, having measured this at room temp a few years ago I knew it was about 77K. Removed thermistor from its...

Phillips Electra "Spin Drain" 1980`s Washing Machine

Philips repair history Had to put a new motor in about 1990 as a magnet collapsed onto the armature. These motors run hot when spinning, 12V at 5 Amp when washing, and about 200V at 1 Amp when spinning. Replaced drum bearings and shaft seal in June 2009, fitted good quality GKN bearings. The...

Phillips Electra "Spin Drain" 1980`s Washing Machine

Still working hard after all these years. Works better than the day it was bought in 84, the soap dispenser used to leak a little back then ! Brill machine, pity Philips dont build them anymore, our UK built Philips colour telly also worked for many years. They proudly stuck a built in Great...

Phillips Electra "Spin Drain" 1980`s Washing Machine

Spin drain Yes they are great to watch, our Philips AWB098 is in regular use. In the early stages when still full of water the whole front panel of unit flexes with the drum movement. The only down side to these machines is the noise at full RPM, the little Polymotor really screams at full belt...

    Help with spare part !

Am trying to find friction plate as fitted to UK made Philips AWB096/098 washing machines. Original pt no 30412, or SLG14. Have put out a request locally for donor scrap machines but no response as yet. If anybody has some lying around in a dusty storeroom corner etc, will happily make a...

    Brilliant Philips !

Your comment about the dispenser drawer not been over the interlock is spot on. This tray dripped for ages before I found where the moisture was coming from, only a couple of years after I bought it, fortunately in time to stop the panels rusting ...

    Back where it belongs

    Jigsaw puzzle anyone?

1984 Philips during bearing and seal replacement. That is Waxoyl in the base not rust ! Bearings only became noisy in March 2009, not bad going me thinks. http://automaticwasher.org/TD/PINK_INDEX/VINTAGE_pink-index.htm
