it's a real PHILIPS made before the Whirlpoolfornication (late eighties-early nineties)
Thanks to the SESA system (or PM system as was called here) it can spin even @ 120 rpm . No other washer have a spin setting lower than 400 rpm. It's a pity, cause sometimes this could be helpful.
Does anyone know why some vintage german/dutch brands had the detergent drawer on the right ? thinkin' of drop down Lavamats / Bauknechts

Great to see a proper Philips in working order. I take it this one was made in the Halifax factory?
We had a later 1989 Italian built Philips Series 90 elite with the drawer on the left hand side. The machine caused nothing but trouble. The washer had a new motor, new bearings, three new door handles/plastic door frames, timer, and rusted very badly. Eventually the on/off button got stuck on as well so we had to switch the machine on and off at the mains.
The end came one day in 1996 when the drain pump caught fire nearly taking the house with it!
It did use the proper old Philips drum, but I think that must have been about it.

Dont know why the dispenser drawer is on the right hand side, quite honestly it does not really matter what side, as long as the dispenser is not on the same side as the interlock, which always causes trouble down the line for obvious reasons!
Lovely Philips washing machine! Is the control knob the original one? Or is there something missing? I think this was an in between model, just to wait for the new generation washing machines.

I am STILL looking for a pic of the Philips washer my mum had back in the early 90's! I remeber it being a very basic model with the timer on the right that pulled to start and a rocker switch. it has a brown fascia with orange writing on. I cant remember the door. can anyone help?

Your comment about the dispenser drawer not been over the interlock is spot on. This tray dripped for ages before I found where the moisture was coming from, only a couple of years after I bought it, fortunately in time to stop the panels rusting !

I have an old Philips which sounds like yours.
Its model number is AWB904.
It is buried at the back of my shed but eventually I will post a pic. It may take a while as its face is to the wall.
Brown fascia, timer knob plus one or two switches. Very basic machine, 400 rpm spin, induction motor.

I love the 1970s and 1980s Philips machines and the more complicated the facia the better. This makes your machine, in my opinion, one of the best looking Philips machines ever.
