Improving Top Loader Washer Performance Via Intermediate Soaks

I guess I'm just not OCD or something being so obsessed with cycles. Our 1970 Kenmore 800 had the Enzyme Soak cycle with optonal auto soak to wash. Yes, it had gentle agitation for soak/prewash. It always make logical sense to me that the soak had gentle agitation because that made it...

Chris, yes I do believe that this is the same sequence as you described. It's no much difference than the Perm Press cycle on the commercial laundromat fabric matic washers of the 1970s. Lived in a dorm with laundry room in 1974 with the described washer.

    Resurrection of the Whirlpools

Chet, thank you. Friends from church had this exact model in the 1990s. Neutral drain had already bit the dust by then. I used to drool over this washer, wishing the Lady Shredmore had initially been this exact model rather than the initial 1986 DD version.

    Magic Chef DW

The only top rotorack dishwashers were those branded as Kenmore and Gaffers & Sattler. I never saw a Magic Chef with a round otp rack.

    Hot Wash Cold Rinse Cycle?

Our 1956 GE washer only had warm rinse. The 1963 15 lb. Norge had for Whites cycle hot wash and warm rnse. Woolens/specials cycle also offered warm wash warm rinse. All other programmed cycles were cold rinses. I loved using warm rinses on our 1970 Kenmore 800 because the rinse fill...

    Hot Wash Cold Rinse Cycle?

I still to this day. Use hot wash, cold rents. Permanent press cycle for 100%. Wrinkle free and permanent press white dress shirts. It's why lady kenmore's had permanent press white cycle

In some ways that door handle/lock reminds me of Kenmore versions of the day. Is this an impeller or wash arm design?

    Resurrection of the Whirlpools

I agree with you Sean. Give me a timer with specific cycles in the Wirlpool/Kenmore tradition of Normal, Perm Press, Knits/Gentle/Delicate, and Soak/Pre-Wash.

    An update regarding life

I thought I'd give an update. My contractor was able to work with my insuraance company to the extent she pretty much got everything repaired, replaced. Samantha was like a bull dog. In the last month or 6 weeks I'ver had the roof replaced and carpetomg replaced. And painting completed...
