I got a 3170 for $500. at best buy. It's been a great washer. Washes my very dirty refinery coveralls really well.

Favorite modern washer would be an LG. Favorite Washer would be a SQ, but they are not modern, as there cycles/programs seem to be very dated. Now if SQ and LG could build a machine together, we have a Modern long lasting washer. I only mention this because my friend David just got a SQ FL...

I just got a new FL washer a few weeks back. I started out by looking at SQ. I was hot to get one, but I read about a few folks having issues. I thought, Do I want to drop $1800. on a SQ? There warranty is 5 years, and they claim the machine is built to run for 25 trouble free years, so why not...

I now feel better about Samsung after watching that video. I think it's wonderful how a small company from a small country, can achieve such a growth. Sort of wish I'd bought a Samsung FL in stead of the LG. Given the size of Samsung, I would not be surprised if LG sourced some of there parts...

Thanks for the reply! The water level looks good from the start. During a wash, when the drum pauses, the water raises to the edge of the drum. Any higher and I could not open the door, without a spill. I mis the simplicity of the Eletrolux(Kenmore 417.420). And sort of wish I should have fix...
