Thank you!
That replacement part looks like a much better design. Mine was broken off exactly how you described with somebody unfamiliar to loading the machine breaking it. It has come off in the past but never broke the tabs. It appears that the updated design uses a disc with a center post...
I have an Kitchen Aid KDI 18 that I have performed several small repairs on to keep it going in the past. Recently the top spinner mount broke and I was wondering if anyone has a fix for this or a part that may be compatible to replace. The mount is simple with four plastic tabs that allow the...
Thanks combo! What about the bottom of the housing should the pin be flush with that as well? I wish they still had replacement parts of this available. Repairclinic.com has some old KDI-18 parts but the wash arm support has been permanently discontinued. The machine is a great one and I would...
Since I was able to remove the entire pin by hand I opened up the wash arm support to see how it all went together. The pin has a knurled end where I assume it was originally pressed into the plastic housing but now that it is free it allows the weight of the wash arm to push it down through...
I guess it just needs a new wash arm support and arm assembly like previously stated. I will keep an eye out for one. Any harm in running it without the bottom arm rotating other than it not cleaning as well until I find a replacment? Water still sprays out of the nozzle holes.
That sucks. The shaft pin is flush with the top of the wash arm assmebly so I don't see how it would be fastened on since there is no room for any additional hardware at the top. Strange thing is it always just lifted off for cleaning since I moved into my house over two years ago and just now...
OK. I have some more detail, perhaps it is missing something. If I pull the lower rack out onto the door I can reach in and lift up on the lower wash arm and pull straight up and lift it completely off of the pin. Not sure if that is normal or not. The wash arm has what looks like a copper or...
I noticed recently that when I open the door of the dishwasher up the lower wash arm has elevated itself up and gets jammed against the lower rack wheel guides. I checked the nozzles and they aren't clogged. It seems like the pressure is pushing the whole arm up instead of just rotating it...
I have a Kitchen Aid Imperial dishwasher that is in pretty good shape but does have some chips in the porcelain tub which resulted in some small surface rust spots. Does anyone have any touch up tips to at least cover up and prevent further rust and deterioration. Thanks in advance.
Blower noise fixed!
I was able to pull the blower assembly out this past weekend and found that the motor mount plate was loose allowing the impeller to scrap off of the blower enclosure. I removed the impeller and tightened up the plate and reassembled and I can't believe the difference. At...
